Having children that use the computer can be a good thing if they don't exaggerate with this. This means that a child should spend a limited amount of time on his computer in order to stay healthy and not have certain injuries later on. Spending too much time on the computer can cause a series of injuries and diseases, so the parent should be very careful about it. The problem is how to monitor the time spent by a child on the computer. ChildCentre is the answer. It's a simple Windows application which allows a parent to limit the amount of time spent by his child on his computer. After the time runs out, the computer will simply shut down itself.

The application is very simple to install and works like a charm on almost any Windows version. After installing and running the program, one just has to set the number of hours until the computer will shut down. ChildCentre allows setting time limits for each day of the week. Besides this, there are a series of settings which can be made to deeply customize the program's functionality.

A password can be set for protecting the program's configuration from being modified by children or any other person. What's more, a certain program can be set to run when the time runs out and also a delay can be configured before the computer shuts down, giving the child enough time to save whatever he is working on.

Pros

It allows limiting the time spent by a child on the computer by setting time limits for each day of the week. Besides that, a delay can be set to go on before the computer shuts down. Furthermore, a program can be configured to automatically run when the time runs out.

Cons

The interface seems too simple and doesn't support themes. ChildCentre allows any parent to efficiently control the amount of time spent by a child on the computer.
